The Division has added Endo-venous laser ablation therapy for the treatment of varicose veins (removal of veins without scars). With the addition of the technique of implantation of spinal cord stimulator, a new dimension was added as a pain relief option for intractable Ischemic pain. The Division holds the distinction of being one of the few vascular surgery centre in India to have a fully functional lab with laser duplex flow meter, Duplex Colour Doppler machines, Biplane Cath lab and Angiography suite  and a  hybrid vascular operation theatre with Robotic arm.

Teaching Programme

Dr. Rajiv Parakh was instrumental in getting recognition from the National Board of Examinations to start a teaching and training centre for a post-doctoral fellowship programme and DNB course in peripheral vascular and endovascular surgery. Being amongst the senior most active Vascular Surgery in the country Dr. Rajiv Parakh he was designated as the national convener for Fellowship examination in Peripheral Vascular & Endovascular Surgery. The division has the unique distinction of offering training in vascular surgery, endovascular procedures and non-invasive duplex scanning and the newly opened Robotic surgery suite.

Hospital Epidemiological Study

Dr, Rajiv Parakh has maintained a registry of over 5000 patients with Deep Vein Thromboses (DVT) and pulmonary embolism. A well researched study involving 1500 patients with DVT was published in the reputed Journal of Clinical and Applied Thrombosis & Hemostasis and Asian Journal of Surgery by Dr. Rajiv Parakh.

Dr. Rajiv Parakh was coordinating a DVT Free Hospital Project, which involved Duplex Ultrasound screening of all high-risk category patients admitted in hospitals in the various specialties along with DVT prophylaxis using LMWH. More than 7500 patients were enrolled in this project.
